FAQ
Are we playing by official rules?
Yes. While the vibes are “Dirty Hucker” casual, the competition is serious. We adhere to PDGA Standards to ensure a fair and elite competitive environment for all divisions.
Can I bring my dog?
To ensure the safety of all participants and the local wildlife, dogs are not allowed on the course or at the festival during this event. Please leave your furry friends at home for this tournament.
Do I have to be 21 to play?
Anyone can play in the tournament! However, you must be 21+ with a valid ID to utilize the beer tickets or enter specific alcohol-serving areas of the Beer Fest. Minor participants will still receive the Gondola pass and festival entry (where permitted).
How does the altitude affect my discs?
At 9,500 feet, the air is significantly thinner. This means your discs will have less lift and will behave much more overstable than they do at sea level or in the Valley. Expect your reliable “straight” fliers to fade early and your understable plastic to fly more like stable-to-overstable workhorses.
What if I feel sick during the round?
If you experience extreme dizziness, headaches, or nausea (signs of altitude sickness), notify a cardmate or a Birdogie official immediately. Your health is more important than a birdie.
What is "Hypoxia" and should I be worried?
Hypoxia is a lack of oxygen. Because Snowbowl is at such a high elevation, you may find yourself getting winded more easily. We recommend arriving in Flagstaff a day early to acclimate, drinking twice as much water as usual, and taking your time between holes.
What is included with my registration?
Your entry fee is a “Golden Ticket” that includes:
Tournament Entry.
Free Entry to the Real Wild and Woody Beer Fest (hosted by the Arizona Brewers Guild).
Complimentary Beer Tickets to be used at the festival.
A Free Scenic Gondola Ride pass to take in the views of the San Francisco Peaks.
What is the tournament format?
The Brewers Cup is a Singles format event.
What should I bring?
Sun Protection: The sun is much more intense at high altitudes. Bring high-SPF sunscreen and polarized sunglasses.
Clothing: Temperature swings are common. It might be 75°F at the base and 55°F with wind at the top. Dress in layers.
Hydration: Nackard Pepsi is keeping us hydrated, but we highly recommend bringing a large reusable water bottle.
