Situated high on the San Francisco Peaks, this seasonal summer course features massive elevation changes and wide-open throws directly down ski slopes. Lodge amenities and ample parking are available during the summer operating season; always check resort hours and lift schedules before heading up the mountain. The thin alpine air makes discs fly more overstable, offering a unique aerodynamic challenge for seasoned players alongside spectacular views.

The Arizona Snowbowl Disc Golf Course was originally created in 2003 as a temporary course for the ’03 PDGA Pro World Championships. This Pro Worlds design was epic in scope and featured many signature holes, maybe none so fabled as the famous hole #18 that followed the Agassiz ski run, plummeting nearly 1000 ft. towards spectators on the patio at the Agassiz Lodge. Elaine King’s drive clanged off of the tray of the basket, only to leave her with an upshot for a par.

Current course design was created in 2025 and is temporary due to current construction on the mountain. Please refer to UDISC and the above map for course details.

Arizona Snowbowl offers a full 18-hole disc golf course, as well as a nine-hole pitch and putt course, and numerous other amenities for disc golfers and families attending Mountain Resort.

AZ Snowbowl Disc Golf Course FAQs

When is the Arizona Snowbowl Disc Golf Course open?

The course is seasonal and only open during the summer months. It is generally available from mid-June through early October, depending on the weather and resort operating hours.

Is the course accessible for all players?

The course is extremely hilly and situated on steep, uneven mountainous terrain, starting at around 9,200 feet in elevation. Because of the substantial physical exertion required to hike up and down the ski slopes, it is not recommended for individuals with limited mobility, nor is it cart friendly.

What is the difficulty level of the course?

UDisc rates the course difficulty as "Moderate," but the community notes that it often plays much harder and longer than the stated distance (4,362 to 6,126 feet) due to the severe elevation changes. The high altitude also makes discs fly more overstable, adding an aerodynamic challenge.

How long does it take to play a round?

A typical 18-hole round at Snowbowl covers approximately 1.9 miles of hiking and takes about 2 hours to complete.

Are there restrooms and water available on the course?

Restrooms and drinking fountains are located inside the Agassiz Lodge near the start of the course, but there are no facilities out on the fairways. Players are strongly advised to pack plenty of water, sunscreen, and rain gear before heading out.

Can I bring my dog?

No, dogs are not permitted on the Arizona Snowbowl Disc Golf Course.
