The 20th Aspen Sports Treebash Open is a PDGA A-Tier. Tournament dates are June 22nd-24th. The tournament will be at Ft. Tuthill County Park, McPherson Park, and Snowbowl. This is a 3-day tournament. All players will play 3 rounds on Friday and Saturday (courses will vary by division). The top 40% of the Pros and 50% of the Ams will play an 18-holes finals round on Sunday.
Since this is an A-tier, all players must be current PDGA members. You will not be able to register unless you are current. You can renew or join PDGA through this link https://www.pdga.com/membership.
Registration opens on April 2nd through Disc Golf United (http://www.discgolfunited.com/disc-golf-tournaments/event-detail.cfm/tourn_id/5334). Registration opens at 6:00 PM PDT/7:00 PM MDT.
All PDGA rules will be enforced. The two-meter rule WILL be in effect. Alcohol consumption will not be permitted during tournament play. Any player caught consuming alcohol during tournament rounds will be disqualified immediately and reported to the PDGA.
Smoking is not permitted on the courses. City and County ordinances prohibit smoking on their parks, and this ban will be extended to Snowbowl. The smoking restriction extends to electronic cigarettes as well. Any player caught smoking will be disqualified and reported to PDGA.
Flagstaff is 7,000 feet in elevation; Snowbowl is from 9,500-10,000 feet. The courses are in rugged terrain and weather can change abruptly from cool, clear skies to rainy, cloudy conditions. Players should acclimate themselves to elevation, hydrate before, during, and after their rounds, wear sturdy footwear, and bring extra clothing for changing conditions.
All 3 courses are on multiple-use facilities. All players are required to extend courtesy not only to other players, but especially to other users of the parks (littering and vulgar language are considered as courtesy violations). If it is determined that a player is being discourteous according to the PDGA Player Misconduct Rules, disciplinary action will be taken.
We will adhere to the PDGA refund policy (section 1.3 of the Competition Manual)
A. A player may officially withdraw only by contacting the Tournament Director, Bill Block.
B. Players must email (email@example.com) or phone (928.707.2676) their withdrawal requests to the Tournament Director at the contact information posted above.
C. Discussions with persons other than the Tournament Director, including other tournament staff, shall not be considered official.
D. Withdrawals made >14 days prior to the start of the event shall be refunded 100 %, less paypal fees or postage and handling costs, which shall not exceed 10% of the entry fee.
E. Players who officially request to withdraw from an event within 14 days from the start of the event and prior to the events published closure of registration and waitlist replacements will receive a 100% cash refund minus up to a $10 handling fee ONLY if their spot in the tournament is filled through either the waitlist or a walkup entry (if offered.) If the player’s spot is NOT filled, the TD has the choice to provide EITHER a 25% cash refund OR just the player’s pack they would have received if they had attended (minus the cost of shipping.) In the case of a player in a Pro division for an event without a Pro player pack worth at least 25% of the Entry Fee, the TD will provide the 25% cash refund.
F. Players who do NOT officially request to withdraw from a registered spot playing in the event prior to the published closure of registration and waitlist replacements or don’t show to play (aka a no-show), forfeit their entry fee and do NOT receive a refund or players pack.
G. These criteria may be relaxed at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
Players can enter the ace pool for $5.00. Ace pool will apply to the first 3 rounds of competition (i.e., not the finals round). If there are multiple winners, the pool will be split evenly. If no ace is hit, we will hold a raffle for ace pool funds. If you entered the ace pool, you’re in the raffle. We will pay out 4 places (40%, 30%, 20%, 10%). The raffle will be held at the awards ceremony. You must be present to win.
